Concentrating photovoltaic thermal (CPVT) solar collectors can be regarded as a promising technology, they are capable of providing renewable electricity and industrial heat simultaneously. The development novel CPVT receiver for linear Fresnel concentrator requires detailed knowledge about the optical performance utilised mirror field. Therefore, this paper presents generic model such concentrating systems. was developed in MATLAB™ calculates sun’s position depending on location, date time. subsequent geometrical computation each stripe angle is basis consideration internal shading mechanisms that typical concentrators. Furthermore, cosine losses determined separately mirror. outcomes comprise parameters considered field, geometric efficiency, resulting irradiance input plane, expected width focus image, concentration factor total radiant flux impinging receiver. Due to chosen design model, its application not limited particular kind concentrator. By contrast, all parameters, number mirrors, dimensions mirrors receiver, among others, freely adjusted.
